The Salisbury East Neighbourhood Centre Inc. (formerly the Salisbury East Neighbourhood House Inc.) was officially opened on the 28th June 1998 and is one of the six Community Centres within the City of Salisbury.
Salisbury East Neighbourhood Centre plays a vital role in supporting and developing social and education life within Salisbury East and surrounding areas. We develop our programs to offer lifelong learning opportunities, support social and physical wellbeing and provide pathways to further education, training and employment. All of our programs are delivered in a non-threatening and engaging environment.
All participants are welcome to become members. Benefits of joining our membership include:
- 50 cents off each week’s activity fee
- $25 discount on hall hire charges
- 50% off photocopying/printing fees
- The opportunity to stand for SENC Management Board positions and to vote at AGM (after 3 months’ membership)
Memberships covers the period 1 July to 30 June. Members renewing their membership have until 30 September to finalise membership. The application form can be downloaded from here.
On a day to day basis the Centre is predominately run by a team of dedicated Volunteers who undertake a range of duties including reception, administration, group facilitation, maintenance and much more to support the local community. If you have some spare time and would like to help, please discover our latest volunteering opportunities available here.
The Centre is governed by the Management Board which is made up of individuals from the community who are members of the Centre. The facility is owned and maintained by the City of Salisbury, which also provides a coordination staff. The Management Board works in partnership with the City of Salisbury to identify and plan programs and services as determined by community needs and encourages members of the local community to participate in the activities or initiatives provided.
